Surely God Is In This Place

Pull up a chair

take a moment to breathe

and consider
 God Who is present everywhere.

His eye is on the sparrow.
and His eye is on me and you.
God is here.  Wherever we are, God is here.  There is no place, there can be no place, where He is not. ... The presence [of God] and the manifestation [of God] are not the same.  There can be the one without the other.  God is here when we are wholly unaware of it.  He is manifest only when and as we are aware of His presence.  On our part, there must be surrender to the Spirit of God, for His work is to show us the Father and the Son.  If we cooperate with Him in loving obedience, God will manifest Himself to us, and that manifestation will be the difference between a nominal Christian life and a life radiant with the light of His face. ... Our pursuit of God is successful just because He is forever seeking to manifest Himself to us.
~ A.W. Tozer ~ The Pursuit of God
I sit still and ponder the presence of God and the love of God and what it means to surrender to Him fully, not with a divided heart.  I pray to cooperate with His Spirit in loving obedience.  Moses' face shone becaue God was present with him and spoke with him as a man speaks with his friend face to face.  We have more than Moses.  We are walking tabernacles of His Spirit.  He has chosen to dwell not only all around us, but within us.  I still.  I am barefoot because this is holy ground --
all the earth is Holy ground.
Surely the Lord is in this place.

Linking up with Still Saturday and The Sunday Community for some sweet Sabbath reflections.

Wow! Thank you, Patty! My word for this year is AWARE, and today I have been looking all over for my copy of Tozer's Pursuit of God, which I drew out of hiding a couple days ago, and now simply can not locate. Really wanted to read that book. Wondered if it might be online, but thought, nah, it's not public domain yet. Then I came here. This is truly a "God moment," don't you think? What a blessing!

What a blessing! I prayed as I sat with God for Him to lead me to what
He wanted me to write. I took my camera out to take photos and then came back in and
sat a bit longer and it hit me that the passage in Tozer's book said what I wanted to say. I hope you do find the book soon. Worse come to
worse, Half.com has it for 75c plus shipping (that's $4.75 total!) ...

The
best thing to me is how God spoke to you specifically and showed His
presence and His care through what He prompted me to write. Simply
amazing: You being aware and me drawing near.
