What a promise - that we will behold as in a mirror the glory of the Lord. As in a mirror - that my life and heart would be a mirror of this glory, this showing off of His goodness and greatness and humility and stillness. I pause to consider the reality and overwhelming promise that I am being transformed into the same image -- from glory to glory.
I picture a little girl skipping from stepping stone to stepping stone over a creek. From glory to glory we skip along. What a life! What a promise! We are going from abundance to abundance, from splendor to splendor, from honor to honor
To be honest, some days I let this higher truth disappear from my awareness like the sun behind a mass of clouds. I let the mundane obscure the holy and I miss the hand of God and His heart for me and for others all around me. I get snared in grocery lists, school work, house work, budgets, bills and bringing up boys. There is the way of Brother Lawrence -- to do all things as unto the Lord, even the peeling of potatoes. This way is the way that makes all places holy ground because His glory is there and we can be blind to it or blinded by it. The choice is ours -- dive in the pool or sit by and allow the glorious presence remain just out of reach.
It takes reflection to reflect this glory. It takes stilling and knowing and being known. I must allow space for Him to move for He is a gentleman and will not force Himself upon me. But when I pause and reflect on my own condition and reflect upon His word and allow Him to have His way with me, I am transformed and bit by bit He causes me to reflect Him more and more.
The moon is not the sun. It never will be, but it is a light to the darkness because it doesn't keep the light to itself. The light reflects and we are blessed by the reflection. Oh that my life would be such a reflection -- that those around me would catch His light because they saw Him shining off my transformed heart.
Stop.

I'm your FMF neighbor. I liked your different reflections and your photos. I can remember as a kid seeing the moon out during the day with the sun and SO CONFUSED how can the two exist together? But they can. They aren't the same but they aren't that different either. Happy Friday!
Thanks for stopping by! I love that reflection of your ideas as a child. Happy Friday to you too.
I so want to reflect His goodness and glory too! It is nice to meet you, Patty. I too, live in the Central valley and found you from my friend Karin's blog, Come Along the Way. Blessings to you and Merry Christmas. Love, Rachael @ Inking the Heart
Rachel,
How wonderful to meet you hear at Hearts Homeward! I am so grateful to know of other Central Valley Christian Bloggers. I am hoping sometime in the coming years we can have something like the Allume conference here -- or even just a meet up. Come back anytime. I'm looking forward to reading your blog as well. ~ Patty
